Girls Night In

Well we did it. One semester done and we are reunited, crazy how we can all go our separate ways, do our own thing, meet new friends then come back together like we never left in the first place. I threw a Christmas Party at my house to bring us all back together again.

I had a classic plate of cookies, chocolate cupcakes with peppermint icing and Sangria, which were all a huge hit! Simple Sangria Recipe: Wine, Raspberry Vodka, Oranges, Raspberries, Orange Juice, Sparkling Water and a dash of sugar. Experiment to get the right taste & enjoy :)

Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas with all your friends and family.

Christmas Wrapping

Supplies:
Gifts ( Duh)
Scissors
Tape
Kraft Paper
Contrast Wrapping Paper
Doilies
Marker

Wrap the main gift, or the biggest one in the kraft wrap,
I used boxes to put several items in so it has a cleaner look.

Wrap a smaller gift in the contrasting wrapping paper.

Write on the "gift tag"

Tape the smaller gift to the top of the larger one,
and position a doilie on one of the edges.

And there you are, a quick and easy way to make gift wrapping a little more creative, kraft way is an awesome way to wrap gifts because there are so many things you can do with it... Check out more kraft paper wrapping inspiration here  -> http://www.pinterest.com/oliviahomes/christmas/

Deer Head Decor

    Supplies:
  • Blank Canvas
  • Template
  • Blue Spray Paint
  • Metallic Gold Spray Paint
  • Glitter Spray Paint

Lay your canvas down on a  protected surface.

Spray a thin gold layer of spray paint all over the entire canvas,
making sure to cover the entire canvas evenly.

Make sure you get the edges completely, they are going to stay gold.
Give it 5-10 minutes to fully dry.

Take the glitter spray and spray the front of the canvas,
going over it multiple times will increase the glitter quantity,
so go over it several times until you are
happy with the amount of sparkle!

Cut out your stencil and place it in the centre of the canvas.
Make sure there are no folded or twisted areas
so that it is laying completely flat.

Spray an even coat of blue spray paint all over the front of the canvas,
make sure you are spraying straight down, this way the
template will transfer onto the canvas.

Because some of the spray will go under the template you will get a
faded uneven look to the shape, which is my favourite part.

And there you are, a sparkly deer head piece that adds a little something special to any space.
These are personally two of my favourite colours, and i have them throughout my bedroom. Currently I have this piece sitting on my dresser with a mint chocolate christmas candle
burning beside it, the flame reflecting on the glitter creates an awesome shine.
These are also a super cheap and easy christmas present!
I'm planning to make a one for someone on my list!

P.S. 11 days until Christmas !!

DIY: Crayon Teacup Candle

Finished Project

   Supplies:
Tea Cup or other glass container
Candle Wicks ( On Amazon for $3)
Glue
Crayons

I got this one from Value Village for only $3.99

Take one of the wicks and put a dab of glue, on the
bottom and stick it to the bottom of the teacup, and let it dry.

Pick the Crayon colours you want the candle wax to be,
I decided to pick colours that would blend together easily.

Take the wrappers off the crayons and put them into a microwave safe bowl.

Heat the crayons 1 minute at a time, stirring in-between, it took
me about 4 minutes for the crayons to fully melt.

Remember to use a oven mitt when taking out the
bowl, and while pouring the wax into the container.
The bowl and wax are extremely hot.

Have someone hold the wick while you carefully pour
in the wax around it. If you don't have anyone to hold
it just move it quickly after the wax is poured in so it
won't set in the wrong place.

Hold the wick while the wax dries, until the wick is able to stay in place
without you holding it. Let it sit for a few hours until the wax is completely
cooled, Cut the wick so it is only about half an inch tall.

Light your new candle and place it beside a cute owl, or anywhere
in your home & enjoy. It lets off a slight crayon smell,
which i actually really enjoyed.
